Web Applications are the primary container for Web sites (known as Site Collections) in SharePoint. Web Applications set the port number, database name, authentication type, and application pool. This video will review how to create a Web application. The primary focus on this video is to create a web application for the Shared Services Provider, however the same options will apply for any Web application. Lesson 6 video 1 also covers Web Application administration.
